Second transnational meeting of the project

img_news_09_12_22_dticeqproject

DAY 1.

We celebrated in London the second transnational meeting of the project, having the Woodberry Down Community Primary School as our host.

We began with a presentation of the host school and the federation where it is included by Dinah Williams, the school's representative in the project, who told us about the innovative teaching methods they apply. Throughout her interesting presentation we also got to know the New Wave Federation, to which the school belongs, consisting on three North London primary schools, working collaboratively for the benefit of all their pupils, helping each other to achieve excellence, sharing common values, pooling resources, nurturing internal talent and collaborating with those outside the schools that can offer experience and innovation.

Following the meeting agenda, the representatives of the IES Ría do Burgo and Padre Feijoo Zorelle, Noelia and María, presented the CPS cases in which they have worked, together with the English partners in the first case and with the Portuguese partners in the second. All the partners agreed that the work of the schools and teacher involved in the project throughout the previous months has been outstanding.

Next, Dan Rogerson presented the evaluation plan and the follow-up that is being done on it, as well as the next tasks related to the quality of the project.

The first day concluded with a general presentation by Xabier Sánchez, from AEPI SABÓN, of the CPD course on creative problem solving, aimed at teachers, which will soon be available to everyone on the selected platform.

Milagros Trigo, from USC, presented the topic on Personal and Cultural Heritage of this course, and through videoconference, Antonio Trigo from Secondary School Barcelos, the one on STEM.

The first day of the meeting was very fruitful.

DAY 2

The second day of the meeting began with the presentation by Xabier Sánchez, project manager at AEPI SABÓN, of the third topic of the CPD course on creative problem solving, aimed at teachers. In this case it is the Entrepreneurship and Business module.

Next, the coordinator (from the Tecnoeduc Research Group at USC) explained some issues related to the management and justification of the project, which is now facing its final stretch.

The meeting ended with a visit to the host school, in which we have the opportunity to see its innovative educational methods and the characteristics and peculiarities of a leader school in its community.  Great school and great team of teachers, with excellent educational results for its students and especially focused on those for whom social disadvantage is a barrier to developing their full potential.

Excellent meeting, both in the organization by the hosts and in the quality of the members' presentations.

There is little left to finish the project and the results are already of a high level.

Last CPS of the academic year with entrepreneurship as the star

img_news_06_29_22_dticeqproject

The academic year finished with a CPS on entrepreneurship.

The students worked in groups to develop a business project from the scratch using the Canva methodology to define the value of their company and all the different model contents, as if they were real entrepreneurs starting a real business.

They got entrepreneurship training by their teachers through a series of workshops, prior to create the working groups to develop their ideas into business opportunities in their community

As a result, each group came up with a complete business model they presented to their classmates to share experiences and enrich their companies.

Summer break is near, but the DTICEQT school students continue to work in their CPS, in this case, for the promotion of each school, where the students created the script, the storyboard and filmed and edited a video presenting and promoting their school

In this new CPS, the students worked on the strengths and weaknesses of their schools, focusing on those aspects that most characterize each school and that differentiate them from others.

With this work, the students learned to manage social networks and to use ICT tools while learning something more about some of the most important classical and modern authors

Some schools such as Padre Feijoo Zorelle implemented a CPS on the Royal Academy of Spanish Language, learning how to interact through Twitter and making an infographic about the institution using Canva.

Also in this month, they implemented a CPS on the importance of pollinators too.
