New meeting of the DTICEQT project

photo_07_01_dticeqt

At the end of April, the partners held a new meeting of the DTICEQT Project, and it was great to meet (even if it was virtually) all the partners again. Everything goes according to plan, and we are eager to meet each other again in the flesh.

Water and its responsible use, protagonist of the March CPS

In March, it was time for the schools to work on a CPS about water and the importance of its responsible use, with the students researching on the topic and creating their videos to raise awareness.

Students have to find out if live will be possible without water and which will be the consequences of water disappearance as it is a non-renewable resource. Students must find solutions on how to preserve this important resource and create a video advertisement to promote it and make people aware of its importance with all the information they have gathered.

During the month of February, the schools worked on several CPS of the DTICEQT project, using different techniques and ICT tools:

  • They completed a CPS about prehistorians, investigating and working around archaeology.
  • They developed a CPS to create a school's virtual library, working with different technological tools.
  • And other group of schools implemented the CPS on robotics.

So, the implementation of the project and the work of the schools continues as planned.

Schools implement CPS on peace, robotics, and podcast creation

photo_4_1_dticeqt

During the month of January, the DTICEQT project schools continued to work with their students to implement new CPS.

This month, the CPS that were worked on covered different aspects of the main themes of the project, with topics such as peace, podcast creation or robotics.

Also, during this month, contacts between students from schools in different countries continued via videoconference, to share their experiences, findings and conclusions while developing the implementation of the chosen CPS.

All the schools will carry out the implementation of all the planned CPS, so that at the end of this phase, all of them will have gone through the same CPS and will be able to carry out an exchange of experiences under equal conditions.

Year recap for the DTICEQT project

2021 is coming to an end, and it's time to review the work of the partners in the DTICEQT project in the last 12 months.

After months of online work and coordination, the partners of the DTICEQT were finally able to meet face to face in Barcelos (Portugal). There, on October 6, 7 and 8, the schools formed groups to prepare for future collaborative work. The schools’ groups started their work by planning the training and piloting activities, and also some training actions were developed.

These training actions covered all the main topics in the project:

  • Personal & cultural heritage.
  • Enterprises & economy.
  • STEM.

After that, in the following weeks, the schools began to work on the implementation of the planned CPS, starting with the training of the teachers involved.

The work of the schools continued by implementing with their students each of the selected CPS according to the planned schedule and according to the methodology defined in the project. The students worked in groups that analysed the problem, collected evidence, and presented their conclusions and proposals to the rest of their classmates.

Each CPS implemented, as well as its conclusions and findings, were later shared by the students, via video conference, with students from other countries who had worked on the same case.
To sum up, this has been a year full of activity and good results for the project partners, their teachers, and their students. Here is for a 2022 full of success for everyone at the DTICEQT project and for all ErasmusPlus projects!

The first CPS of the DTICEQT project have been implemented and started up in the participating schools

The schools of the DTICEQT project, once the training phase of the teachers involved in the planned activities has been completed, have launched the first CPS according to the planned calendar and methodology.

To do this, the students have known a short introduction to the subject, they have developed by themselves the search for information, they have worked in groups to integrate it and they have presented it to their classmates using different supports based on ICT tools.

The results obtained validate the working methods designed, and the plans remain as they were defined at the Portugal meeting.

After the face-to-face meeting held in Barcelos (Portugal) in October, the schools participating in the DTICEQT project began working on the implementation of the several CPS defined by the working groups in the transnational meeting.

The methodology established by the groups of schools, created to ensure an international composition in all of them, will be developed as follows:

The schools of each group will work the same CPS simultaneously, with the provision of a CPS implemented every 15 days. Initially, each school will work with its own students in the presentation of the practical case, obtaining information, its analysis and processing, to finish preparing the final results, with support of ICT tools.

For this, each school will first carry out a training activity for the teachers involved in the project, so they know the methodology of working with the CPS, as well as the DTICEQT project and its objectives.

Once all the schools in the same group complete the implementation of their projects, the students of all of them will connect via virtual meeting to exchange experiences and share results, enriching the work they have developed up to then.

The priority areas for the development of the CPS are:

  • Personal & cultural heritage
  • Enterprises & economy
  • STEM

Presential meeting of the consortium of the European project DTICEQT in Portugal

The second meeting of the consortium of the European project DTICEQT took place in Barcelos, Portugal, on October 6, 7 and 8. Coordinated by the Educational Technology group of the USC Tecnoeduc, the researchers Carmen Fernández Morante, Beatriz Cebreiro López, Milagros Trigo Miranda, Javier Garbayo Montabes and Enrique Latorre Ruiz participated in this meeting.

DTICEQT (Digital Technology, Imagination, Creativity and Entrepreneurship for High Quality Teaching), Erasmus+ KA2 project, of the strategic action cooperation for innovation and the Exchange of Good practices, aims to promote the development of digital teaching skills among teachers and identify learning areas in which creative digital teaching could improve the experience of students. It has a total funding of 157,356.00 €, and is integrated by a consortium of seven institutions, six of which are schools.

In an increasingly digitized world that has only accelerated due to the challenges arising from the COVID-19 health crises, this training will be of great value to all current and future teachers.

Presential meeting of the consortium of the European project DTICEQT in Portugal

In DTICEQT, activities will be carried out that reinforce and complement international cooperation and virtual mobility between schools, students and other institutions with the aim of achieving excellence in school teaching and learning. This involves strengthening the teaching profession at all educational levels by improving digital skills addressed through the design of innovation strategies with which to offer students a high quality inclusive education. Therefore, it will be necessary to identify the innovative technologies and practices that are appropriate to each curricular area and learning competency and to implement flexible and creative learning environments through the use of technology, in order to reduce school failure and increase the number of students who pursue post-compulsory education.
